Low emission power solutions for the marine market

OctoPower is an integrated single branded power solution for recreational or commercial marine applications. We have the ultimate plug-and-play solution at hand, from 3 - 48 kVA. The heart of the OctoPower system is a battery bank that feeds a WhisperPower inverter during silent time. This (lithium) battery pack is rechargeable from different sources, including a dock connection, solar/ wind generators, one or more boat DC alternator and a DC or AC WhisperPower generator.

The battery storage runs in general the various DC and AC consumers. When the reserve drops too low, the WhisperPower AC or DC generator starts automatically. Our cloud based WhisperCare allows full control over the OctoPower system, anywhere in the world, where a 4 G network or a proper internet connection is available.

Battery Storage & Solar Power

The heart of the OctoPower system is a durable power bank, made from the safest kind of Lithium (LiFePO4), certified to DNV GL standards if desired. Alternatively, long-life deep cycle lead-acid batteries can be used, charged by the WhisperPower Super Charger(s) and solar and/or wind power (optional).

AC from the DC Battery – WhisperPower’s Super Inverter

Low voltage battery power (12, 24 or 48 VDC) is now utilized by the WhisperPower Super Inverters, ranging from 3 kVA to 48 kVA single or 3-phase electrical power. The Super Inverter now supplies 120 VAC – 60 Hz or 230 VAC 50 Hz single phase electrical power to various appliances (3-phase 3 x 400 VAC 50/60 Hz optional).

Reduced Charging Time 

The WhisperPower Battery Storage is re-charged by one or more WhisperPower Super Chargers. Normally this Super Charger is connected to the utility grid which includes shore power, yet when mains or shore power are not available, solar panels and wind generators can take over the charging process. An ultra-silent WhisperPower back-up generator, complying with the most stringent emission regulations, such as Stage V and EPA Tier 4, can be added to the system. This can recharge the lithium battery bank and provide prime power during high domestic usage.

Remote Monitoring and Control

WhisperCare Monitoring and Control safeguards a perfectly managed and fully controlled power system inside the vehicle or yacht, and also remotely. WhisperCare comprises real-time monitoring, historical information and various system alarms.

Battery-based 3 kW power system

Designed for boats. Consists of one power electronics module and one or two Lithium battery packs. All components will have been pre-installed/mounted.

The OctoPower 3 is supplied as an easy plug and play installation, with connections to: AC power (land/shore) input, solar panel(s) input, connection to outboards or inboard starter battery. The maximum charge power from this source is 1 kW (100 Amps / 12 V or 50 Amps / 24 VDC). There are outlets for 230 VAC and (optional) 12 VDC. A 120 VAC 60 Hz output is also available.

Piccolo generators

3.5 kVA - 15 kVA Marine Generators

The Piccolo generator range of compact generators combines the latest diesel engine technology with a new way of producing electrical power. Instead of adding an alternator with fixed speed on the back of the fly-wheel, WhisperPower have designed a very compact permanent magnet alternator (PMA), located just behind the engine. As a result, these systems are much smaller and lighter compared to traditional generators. The generator RPM can be fixed to a position offering the optimal balance between RPM, output power, audible noise and vibration.

Unique Genverter Technology

The Piccolo generators are a combination of a diesel engine with integrated alternator and an inverter, hence the name Genverter. Key feature of this technology is the quality of the output combined with the surge power capability. Within a certain window of the rotating speed of the diesel engine, the PMG delivers the correct power quality to operate electrical equipment, such as tools, compressors, washing machines, air-conditioning, electrical cooking devices and various other AC appliances.

Ready to install
The Piccolo diesel generators come complete with all the fittings needed to connect the generator to the fuel tank, hoses needed to connect the engine to the cooling system, cables to connect the starter engine to the starter battery and electrical wiring to connect the Piccolo 12 to the on-board power system.

Unique Genverter Technology

Inverter technology & DDC panel

Devices such as air conditioning units and electric motors are often controlled by electronics to improve the efficiency and performance. Traditional generators may fail to operate these appliances. All Piccolo 12 models are equipped with a PMG module (Power Module Genverter©) to ensure that the voltage and frequency within the rotating speed range remain perfect so that all the equipment continues to run without interruption. Surge power is generated by the PMG to start up inductive loads.

Thanks to the electronic PMG inverter output, it delivers the ideal power quality for all your comfort equipment such as a washing machine, small air conditioning system, electrical cooking hob, battery chargers and inverter/charger combinations.

Unique engine
All Piccolo 5 models are fitted with a modern diesel engine designed by WhisperPower, entirely for the purpose of generating power the smooth way. The engine is cooled by a heat exchanger designed for indirect water-cooling. The circulation water pump is driven by a PTO (no belt). This WhisperPower engine operates between 2800 and 3600 rpm.

Every M-SQ (Super Quiet) Pro 15 WhisperPower diesel generator is designed for non-stop, 1500/1800 rpm operation under harsh circumstances. They are robust, silent, compact and extremely reliable. All M-SQ Pro 15 generators are made in the Netherlands and tested during a 2 hours running period in one of the most advanced generator production facilities in the world, before distributed on a world-wide base by dedicated, service orientated, distribution partners.
